A step-by-step guide to setting up secure electronic deposits via Checkbook.io

What Is Checkbook.io and Why Am I Receiving This Email?

As part of our commitment to getting your payments to you quickly, securely, and reliably, we use a service called Checkbook.io to deposit your monthly earnings directly into the bank account of your choosing.

Think of it like setting up direct deposit with an employer — you do it once, and then every month your payment arrives automatically.

⚠ Action Required: You must complete this one-time setup to receive your payment. If you do not take action on the Checkbook.io email, your deposit will show as "Unpaid" and we cannot process your funds.


1. Look for the Email

Check your inbox for an email from support@checkbook.io. The email will display the Casago logo and our company name, so you know it is legitimate.

Tip: If you don't see the email, check your Spam or Junk folder. Search for "checkbook.io" to find it quickly.

2. Click the "Deposit" Button

Open the email and click the large "Deposit" button. This takes you to a secure page where you choose to accept your payment via direct deposit.

3. Choose Individual or Business

Select whether you are setting up the account as an Individual or a Business.

Individual
Property owned in your personal name.

Business
Owned by an LLC, corporation, or entity. You will need your Tax ID (EIN) and legal business name.

4. Verify Your Phone Number

For security, Checkbook.io sends a verification code to your mobile phone. This is called multi-factor authentication (MFA) — the same security your bank uses.

Screenshot: Enter your phone number and choose "Text Message" or "Phone Call" to receive your verification code, then tap "Verify."

Important: Make sure we have your current mobile number on file. Contact us if you have recently changed your number.

5. Connect Your Bank Account

This is the final step! You have two options for connecting your bank:

Option A: Instant Verification Recommended

Uses Plaid — the same secure technology behind Venmo and Cash App.

  1. Search for and select your bank

  2. Log in with your online banking credentials

  3. Select your checking or savings account

Your credentials are never shared with us or Checkbook.io.

Option B: Manual Verification

If your bank is not listed in Plaid:

  1. Enter your routing number (9 digits)

  2. Enter your account number

  3. A small micro-deposit (a few cents) arrives in 1-2 business days

  4. Confirm the micro-deposit amount to verify your account

Your bank account is connected!

All future monthly payments will deposit automatically — no additional steps from you.

On or around the 10th — 15th of each month

If Not Completed

Payment shows as "Unpaid" — we cannot deposit your funds

Own Multiple Properties?

If you want payments deposited into different bank accounts for different properties:

Key Rule: Each email address can only be linked to one bank account. Need different banks? Use a separate email per property.

Good news: This does NOT affect your Owner Portal login. You can still use your main email to toggle between properties.

Is Checkbook.io safe and secure?

Yes. Bank-level encryption, tokenized data, trusted by thousands of businesses. Your credentials are never stored in plain text.

Do I need a Checkbook.io account?

No. No signup, no app, no fees. Everything works through the email link.

I did not receive the email?

Check Spam/Junk, search "checkbook.io." Still missing? Contact our Owner Success team to resend.

Need to change my bank account later?

Contact our Owner Success team and we will update your banking info.

What if I do not complete the setup?

Your payment stays "Unpaid" until you finish. Please act as soon as you receive the email.

I got an error during setup?

Contact our team right away. Common issues: outdated phone number or a bank requiring manual verification.
